Wildlife Reserve & Activities
Wild Oak Woods is a stunningly beautiful wildlife site made up of woodland and meadows, streams and ponds and is home to a multitude of trees, flowers and animals. Roe Deer often visit the camping area and Badgers and Red Squirrels can be spotted in the woods. Barn Owls hunt for voles and mice over the wildflower meadows and Sparrowhawks fly like tiny fighter planes along the woodland paths. The wet areas are great breeding grounds for Frogs, Toads and Newts. Lizards, Slow worms and even Adders can sometimes be found basking in the sun. In the spring the woodland is a carpet of Bluebells and in summer the wildflower meadows are a buzz with Bees, Butterflies and Damselflies. Whilst we cannot guarantee you will see wildlife on your holiday at the campsite they do tend to turn up everywhere so don’t be too surprised if there is a Deer outside your cabin, or a Badger has been digging for worms by the tent pitch overnight or if you find a baby Lizard in the outside sink. At Wild Oak Woods there is always a chance to experience nature up close and personal.
