About the campsite

A short drive through the stunning Wild Oak Woods brings you to a clearing where you will find the four camping cabins. These Huts are insulated, have wood burning stoves, proper beds and futons, solar lighting and compost toilets. The cabins sleep up to 4 people and there is parking for 1 vehicle just outside each hut. The facilities block provides showers, level access compost toilet and a small kitchen and outside the facilities block there is a sink with hot and cold running water and a table and chairs.
Camping options are limited at present however there is space for one small tent and two small/medium campervans.
The Wild Oak Woods Eco-campsite project was part funded by the Scottish Government and the European Union LEADER 2014-2020.

What you should bring with you to your Camping Cabin holiday
- Basically everything that you would take camping except the tent for example;
- Bedding and towels,
- Cutlery, crockery pots and pans are available in the kitchen,
- Washing up basin, cloth and tea towel,
- A torch,
- A water bottle,
- Re-use bags for rubbish.
- Though we ask people not to allow dogs on the furniture we appreciate this is very difficult when you are asleep so if you have asked to bring a dog please bring a throw for the futon.
- Unlike a lot of the west of Scotland we do not have a big midge problem but you might want to bring insect repellent if you are bothered by them.

Small tent pitch with compost loo
There is a small semi wild camping pitch in the camping hut field, it is not perfectly level and flat but people that have used it in the past have enjoyed their stay. The tent pitch has it’s own compost toilet and logs to sit on.
Please note do not leave food in your tent, the wildlife may enjoy it and damage your things in the process.
